God Rebuked Me!

Image
So a little back story, in February of 2020 I acquired a horse. An Arabian gelding, Amir. Though he isn’t “papered” my equine vet believed Amir was 16 years old at the time. According to my vet, Arabs typically live well into their 30s for those who aren’t familiar with the breed. Amir had some hoof issues when I got him. Later we also found he had had multiple injuries to his neck, pastern and stifle (knee). I had the wonderful privilege of working with my vet and farrier to begin rehabilitating Amir for the next year and a half. I was utterly amazed that I got to call him mine. Beautiful with a BIG personality! Who knew a month after I took ownership of Amir and boarded him in Delaware, Ohio covid19 would hit with a vengeance shutting everything down. It was easy to spend a lot of time with Amir especially since distractions were limited. We bonded quickly. I’m not real sure who rescued who to be honest. Amir’s favorite treat is a muffin made of barley, oats and wheat (all th...

God Sees You!

Before we get started, I’m just going to lay it all out there. I’m sure that often times God is exasperated by my actions and/or decisions. I miss his small, still voice or that nudging from the Holy Spirit. I can literally picture Jesus with his head and upper body draped over a table with the words overhead “This child!” I’ve come a long way! Now that that’s out of the way…. In late July 2021. I finally got on the serving schedule at my church. They were probably tired of me hounding them and wanted me to stop calling. I can be very persistent! LOL On Friday, July 23, 2021, I got a text from my dad. Mom had had a massive headache for several days and couldn’t get relief. He was taking her to Hardin Memorial Hospital in Kenton, Ohio. A couple hours later I got another text that she was getting a CAT scan and received permission from the hospital staff to allow me to come be with her at the hospital. All the covid19 protocols were in place and didn’t allow families to be inside the...

The Perfect Laborer!

I am 46 years old. I have been in and out of churches all my life for different reasons. I have watched church services online, on TV, on DVDs, in person. At no point in time had I ever heard the term 'Spiritual Parents' in any church lingo. You may be reading this and thinking whether you have or not. If you find yourself in the same boat as me let me just say a Spiritual Parent is an incredible gift to the church and anyone blessed enough to have one! Before I get into explaining the role of a Spiritual Parent please remember, to protect everyone's privacy I have changed names but have maintained a truthful story. If you know someone based on the story I tell because you happened to witness things with this person, well I can't help that. For those who may know this person, I'm sure you can attest God is good! LOL I still hadn't officially joined the DreamTEAM (the name most churches give to their volunteer teams) though I had attended a rally and met some rea...

They Changed My Life!

Romans 1:17 AMP - For in the gospel the righteousness of God is revealed, both springing from faith and leading to faith disclosed in a way that awakens more faith. As it is written and forever remains written, "THE JUST AND UPRIGHT SHALL LIVE BY FAITH."  Everyone is aware of the big celebrity preachers like TD Jakes, Kenneth Copeland, Joyce Meyers, Real Talk Kim. Each of them have their own preaching style and unique gifting from God with a large following, mega churches or huge online presence. In today's world it's so easy to sit on your couch, in your soft pajamas sipping coffee on Sunday mornings while tuning in to watch church online. I have done it myself a few times for various reasons. Unintentionally you check your phone for message notifications or scroll through social media while praise and worship take place. Before you know it the dog wants out or the cat wants fed and the kids want breakfast. The convenience of the online experience is full of distract...

God is Working Even When You Don't See It!

Romans 8:28 AMP - And we know with great confidence that God who is deeply concerned about us causes all things to work together as a plan for good for those who love God, to those who are called according to His plan and purpose. So many women I know have stories of baking cookies with their mom or getting pedicures together on the weekends. Family vacations every year at the beach or lake. My best friend lives across the street from her mom and talks with her daily. I was never able to share similar stories about my mom. We were polar opposites in so many ways. I tend to be bold and to the point. She was quiet...kept to herself most often. She enjoyed crafts and painting things in her house, not a hobby that highlights any of my abilities! I love to entertain, the more the better! From outdoor movie nights to ugly Christmas sweater parties to themed birthday parties, I am happiest loving on friends and family to ensure everyone feels special. My mom enjoyed her privacy. As the years...

My mom stood in the gap!

Getting up this morning and writing a blog was not at all on my agenda for today. With that said, over the past few years the Holy Spirit has shown me there are things that people need to hear and even experience for themselves. Over the past three years I found myself working in ministry though I never imagined myself serving in that magnitude. Maybe I neglected to see myself as worthy, too many mistakes perhaps. At first it was quite intimidating to be working with pastors and others who at the drop of a hat could recite scriptures. I held them to a higher standard. Simple as that. I spent 16+ years in banking, business development and community service before I became a stay at home mom and dabbled in direct sales for a women's clothing company. My story isn't one of a faithful relationship with Jesus or a weekly Bible study group. I've made a lot of mistakes over the years because I ignored that gut feeling which I later learned was the Holy Spirit warning me. I've ...
